CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Bruce Wallace, an attorney in Nexsen Pruet's Charleston office, has been elected to the House of Delegates of the South Carolina Bar.

Wallace, who practices primarily with the firm's litigation team, will begin his two-year term July 1. He will represent the 9th Judicial Circuit, which includes Charleston and Berkeley counties.

"Over the years, Nexsen Pruet has consistently taken leadership roles in the South Carolina Bar," said Al Pollard, Managing Partner of the firm. "It is a reflection not only of our commitment to the Bar, its programs, and principles, but also to the profession itself. We're proud that Bruce is helping to continue that tradition. He will be a major asset to the House of Delegates."

The House of Delegates establishes policy for the Bar, and includes delegates from each judicial circuit.

Wallace earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of Wig and Robe. He was also research editor for the American Bar Association Real Property Probate and Trust Journal. From 1996-1998, Wallace clerked for the Honorable C. Weston Houck, Chief U.S. District Judge.

He is a native of Charleston and a member of the Exchange Club in Charleston.
