Nexsen Pruet Hires Former Trademark Examiner; Jayne Hunter Joins Intellectual Property Group Charlotte February 20, 2013
Nexsen Pruet announced today that Jayne Hunter, has joined joined the firm's Charlotte office as part of its Intellectual Property Group.
Hunter began her career as a trademark examining attorney in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She has utilized her trademark registration experience as in-house counsel and in private practice for more than 20 years, including time at an international insurance company and Bank of America.
With a sharp focus on trademarks, Hunter helps businesses and entrepreneurs protect their intellectual property and navigate technology contract issues. Her experience as a trademark examiner gives her insight into the process of registration, while her in-house and private practice experience provides her with knowledge on what clients need to move their business forward in light of the ever-changing issues surrounding intellectual property.

In addition, Hunter is an experienced adjunct instructor, having taught at Queens University of Charlotte, Western Carolina University and currently with the Duke Paralegal Certificate program. She often makes presentations on IP topics to local and regional arts groups. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
