Sandy Sands Joins Nexsen Pruet in Raleigh; Former State Senator Expands Public Policy Group August 2, 2012
Nexsen Pruet announced today that former North Carolina State Senator Alexander “Sandy” Sands has joined the firm’s Public Policy and Governmental Affairs Group.
Sands, who has been consistently ranked as one of the top lobbyists in North Carolina, joins a team that is also well-established and connected at the Capitol, including former Governor Jim Holshouser, former State Supreme Court Chief Justice Beverly Lake and former Assistant Commerce Secretary Ernie Pearson.

Sands served in the North Carolina Senate from 1986 until 1994. Since leaving office he has continued to development relationships with members of the General Assembly, focusing a large part of his practice on economic development.
Since Nexsen Pruet joined with the former Sanford Holshouser firm in January of 2009 the firm has nearly tripled its number of attorneys and moved from Cary to the Glenwood area of Raleigh. With Sands addition, the firm now has 19 attorneys in the Triangle.
