2018 Election Update

With the 2018 primary elections right around the corner, campaign season is in full swing across the Palmetto State. Elections for various Republican and Democratic primary races will take place on June 12, 2018. All necessary runoffs will be held on June 26, 2018, and the general election will take place on November 6, 2018. Headlining this year’s primary elections are five Republicans and three Democrats who are vying to become South Carolina’s next governor. This is also the first year that the State’s governor and lieutenant governor will be running on a joint ticket. In addition to the highly competitive gubernatorial race, all 124 seats in the South Carolina House of Representatives are up for election this year, although not all seats are contested.
