Harold Jacobs practices primarily in litigation, with emphasis in the areas of aviation, products liability, antitrust and unfair trade practices.

Active in bar affairs, Mr. Jacobs has served as President of the South Carolina Bar and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association and was formerly a member of the Board of Directors of the American Judicature Society, Chairman of the South Carolina Supreme Court Commission on Character and Fitness and Chairman of the South Carolina Judicial Conference Committee on Judicial Reform.

In 2002 the University of South Carolina Law School honored Mr. Jacobs by giving him a 'Compleat Lawyer Platinum' award. Only three such awards are given out each year. In 2002 both Mr. Jacobs, and another firm member, Julian Nexsen, won this award, which recognizes their distinguished service in South Carolina.

A native of Kingstree, South Carolina, Mr. Jacobs is active in church, civic and governmental affairs, having served on the Vestry and as Senior Warden of St. Michael's and All Angel's Episcopal Church, the Committee for Canons and Bylaws of the Diocese of Upper South Carolina, the South Carolina Higher Education Commission and the Patriots Point Commission.
