George Scott practices with the firm's Corporate Group. He also works closely with members of the Bankruptcy Group.
Scott graduated from The Charlotte School of Law, magna cum laude. While in law school he was a member of the Law Review and Order of the Crown and served as President of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honors Fraternity and Director of Community Relations for the SBA. He was also the recipient of three CALI awards for Civil Procedure, Commercial Leasing, and Professional Responsibility.
Prior to law school, he gained substantial work experience as an account executive for one of worlds largest investment banks, a real estate agent in New York, an assistant college football coach and as operations manager in the entertainment industry.
Scott published a thesis entitled Corporate Finance for the Native American Corporation while earning his MBA from Wagner College. As an undergraduate at Syracuse University, he earned his varsity letter and was a member of a team that won a Big East Championship.
Scott lives in Columbia with his wife and two daughters.

Unsettled, or Unsettling, Law? A Review of Bankruptcy Jurisdiction Following Stern v. Marshall
- Mr. Scott was a co-presenter with Rick Mendoza at a South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association meeting in November, 2011.
- Mr. Scott, Rick Mendoza and Judge John T. Laney, III, Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Georgia also discussed Stern v. Marshall at a Consumer and Business Bankruptcy Seminar in November, 2011. The seminar was co-sponsored by the Bankruptcy Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
