Stephanie Eames practices in the areas of economic development, banking and finance and corporate law.

Ms. Eames was a member of the team responsible for procuring incentives for The Boeing Company.  The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce recently honored Ms. Eames (along with Senators McConnell, Leatherman, Grooms, Campbell, and Speaker of the House Bobby Harrell) for her "leadership and commitment in advancing the economy of South Carolina by working tirelessly to negotiate the incentive package that resulted in the Boeing 787 Expansion Aircraft Assembly plant in North Charleston resulting in the single largest capital investment in South Carolina history." 

She also served as a member of the team representing MeadWestvaco Corporation’s Community Development and Land Management Group and the Rockefeller Group in securing incentives for a new distribution center in Berkeley County.

Additionally, Stephanie Eames was a member of the Nexsen Pruet team that played an integral role in securing matching funds totaling $53 million that resulted in Clemson University being awarded a $45 million grant for the off-shore wind turbine test facility at the Restoration Institute site in North Charleston.

Ms. Eames previously served as the Director of Economic Development for the City of Charleston.  In that capacity, Stephanie created and implemented programs directed at job creation and retention through specific efforts in business finance, marketing, small business development, business retention and expansion, technology transfer and real estate development.

Her work at the City also included managing the City’s Green initiatives, as well as overseeing the City of Charleston’s women and minority business recruitment programs.

Before her position with the City of Charleston, Ms. Eames worked in the corporate and securities practice group of an AmLaw 100 firm.  She advised public and private companies regarding compliance with federal securities laws, complex financings, and mergers and acquisitions.  She also advised clients on all phases of buying and selling businesses, including mergers ranging in size from several hundred thousand dollars to several hundred million dollars.

  • Appointed by City of Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. to Chair a City of Charleston Committee tasked to raise money for the Central Asia Institute ("CAI") - a charity which constructs schools and helps educate impoverished girls in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

  • Appointed by the Mayor of Charleston to the Selection Committee for the Calhoun Street-East/Cooper River Waterfront Master Plan
