Mr. Bender practices in the health care group. He represents health care clients in a variety of litigation matters, with his primary focus on Certificate of Need disputes before the Administrative Law Court and compliance / fraud and abuse investigations. Additionally, Mr. Bender represents health care clients before South Carolina's various professional licensing boards.
Mr. Bender earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina and his law degree from the USC School of Law. As an undergraduate, he received the prestigious Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, the highest honor awarded to a USC student.
Mr. Bender’s background includes work as a legislative liaison with S.C. Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. While at PRT, he assisted in developing and implementing legislative strategy and acted as the agency's primary contact with the South Carolina General Assembly. He also served as an Urban Fellow with the New York City Department of Transportation, where he worked on the city’s traffic policies and as a speech writer for the Agency's Director.
