Jonathan Yates

Jonathan L. Yates is a member in the firm’s real estate practice group and focuses his practice on telecommunications and land use issues.

Mr. Yates’ background in the telecommunications industry is broad-based and includes representation of wireless carriers, broadcasters and tower companies.  He has successfully appeared before virtually every county planning commission, zoning board, and elected body in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Coastal Georgia.

In addition to his zoning practice, Mr. Yates handles regulatory, title, lease and permitting assignments for the wireless industry.  He understands the incredible time constraints under which the wireless carriers operate and strives to ensure that all sites make their "on air" target date.

His land-use practice includes assisting in the permitting of large multi-use commercial developments and residential developments.  Mr. Yates is a frequent speaker, with his most recent speaking engagement being a lecture on environmental issues for Clemson's College of Engineering.

• Yates led efforts on behalf of leading telecommunication association in the successful resolution of the Beaufort County Tower Lighting Ordinance
• Involved in the initial passage and subsequent revisions of local tower siting ordinances throughout the Carolinas and coastal Georgia. 
• Developed a tower site "appeal proof" application that gets quick results.
• Jonathan and his team oversee an impressive list of wireless, tower and broadcast clients and have maintained a reputation for value delivery and client satisfaction.
