Amy Allen Hinson practices primarily in the area of intellectual property law. She specializes in assisting clients through complex intellectual property litigation, aiding clients in preparation and prosecution of both patent and trademark applications, and advising clients regarding patent, trademark and copyright issues.
Since she began practicing law, Ms. Allen Hinson has obtained broad experience in intellectual property litigation and has been involved in intellectual property litigations throughout the United States including South Carolina, North Carolina, California, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Illinois. Ms. Allen Hinson is a registered patent attorney before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In addition to her experience in aiding clients in the prosecution of patent application, Ms. Allen Hinson also has experience in assisting clients through patent reexamination proceedings. Ms. Allen Hinson also frequently works closely with Nexsen Pruet’s Corporate Group in analyzing asset purchase agreements and contracts involving all forms of intellectual property.
Ms. Allen Hinson received a B.S., cum laude, in Ceramic Engineering from Clemson University. She received her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2005 where she was a member of the Trademark Moot Court team, Just Democracy, and the Student Bar Association.
Before joining Nexsen Pruet, Ms. Allen Hinson worked in various engineering-related positions with CeramTec North America in Laurens, S.C.
