 Practices

Rick Reames practices in the areas of trusts and estates planning and administration, taxation with an emphasis on state and local taxation, and general transactional law. Mr. Reames regulary advises and represents both beneficiaries and fiduciaries of trusts and estates regarding South Carolina's probate and trust laws. A large portion of Mr. Reames' trusts and estates practice involves family succession planning with respect to real estate and closely-held businesses. Mr. Reames also regularly advises and represents large and small businesses with respect to income, property, and sales and use tax issues and frequently practices before the South Carolina Department of Revenue.
Mr. Reames received a B.A. degree in Business Economics, magna cum laude, from Wofford College. He earned a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was a member of the South Carolina Law Review and a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe. Mr. Reames earned an L.L.M. degree in taxation from New York University School of Law.
