Columbia    The State    February 21, 2010

Nexsen Pruet board chairman John Sowards talks to The State newspaper about how the recession is changing the legal industry in an article entitled "Lawyers lead Columbia firms in changed times."

The State interviewed three newly elected law firm leaders in Columbia and reports "all three agree that the long souring economy has changed the legal game in ways that ups and downs of the past decades have not."

"Distress, it's alive and well," said Sowards.  But, Nexsen Pruet's new chairman said 2010 is expected to be a better year.  "We see good things are cooking."

As board chairman, John Sowards is responsible for shaping the vision and strategy of Nexsen Pruet.  His legal practice is focused in the areas of real estate, corporate and finance law.
