Jeff Vinzani is a commercial real estate and banking attorney. Although he practices in many areas of business law, his major focus is on complex real estate and finance transactions. His real estate experience includes a wide range of matters including commercial, office, retail, resort and industrial development and leasing. He also handles matters such as permitting, zoning, development agreements, 1031 exchange transactions, property owners' association matters and title insurance. His finance experience includes real estate lending, asset-based lending and secured transactions and he has extensive experience representing a wide variety of banking and financial institutions in complex transactions, as well as workouts, loan sales, debt modifications, and collections.
Mr. Vinzani graduated with honors from South Carolina College, the Honors College of the University of South Carolina, with a degree in Economics. He received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
While at USC, Mr. Vinzani served as President of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Secretary of the Interfraternity Council, and Student Government Senator. He was a member of the Student Alumni Association, Omicron Delta Kappa, Omicron Delta Epsilon and Magna Kappa Honorary Fraternity. Mr. Vinzani received the USC Outstanding Senior Award and was named to Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.
Jeff is heavily involved in the community and the state. Jeff recently served on the Transition Team for State Treasurer Curtis Loftis as Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Board of Financial Institutions. Jeff is past Chairman of the Real Estate Practices Section of the South Carolina Bar and is currently the Council's House Delegate. He also served two terms as Chairman of the Developers Council of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce which is comprised of members of the Chamber who represent various sectors of the real estate development community. He previously served as the Ninth Circuit Governor on the Board of Governors of the University of South Carolina and was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award by the University’s Honors College. Jeff is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute and was chosen to participate in the 2011 ULI SC Sustainable Leadership Institute which is a six month program whereby the participants engage with national experts and policy makers in an intimate and focused setting to get a better understanding of land use issues facing our state.
Locally, Jeff has served as a Deacon at East Cooper Baptist Church; he was a Vice President and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Charleston Stage Company, a local theater group based in historic Dock Street Theater; he is past President of the Charleston County Carolina Alumni Club and has served on the Board of his neighborhood association. The Charleston Regional Business Journal honored Jeff with the 40 under 40 Award, which recognizes 40 of the region's brightest business stars under the age of 40.
